I recently bought this bike and like it a lot, but I should say that I am not a motorcycle enthusiast. I'm not interested in racing the bike, modifying it, or taking it off road. I plan to drive it reasonably legally on the public roads, as a means of transport and not a hobby. If you are like me, and simply looking for a light motorcycle but don't know much about them then these articles may be useful for you.
When researching before buying the bike I found very little information available online in English. Everything I did find was written by people with far more knowledge and enthusiasm than me, and I found it quite frustrating. This blog is intended to be a resource for ordinary people who don't know a sprocket from a flange and hope that they will never need to find out the difference.
If you find it useful, please link to it from your blog or website, as this makes it easier for other people to find. Thanks.

After all the dramas in the early days, which were basically down to a few simple issues, I'm now very happy with the bike. In fact I haven't had a single issue with it at all in over a thousand kilometres. CPI seem to hae fixed the small stuff, and there isn't any big stuff. Great!!

At the time of writing I am experiencing some problems with this bike and chasing the dealer and manufacturer to fix them. A couple of people have told me to just get a refund, but to be honest... I love my CPI and just want it to work properly. Let's face it, this is a cheap motorcycle built by a relatively small company and it's new on the market. At the moment I'm willing to persevere with fixing these relatively minor issues.

At one particular set of traffic lights in Taipei I have to wait a total of four minutes. I recently spent the entire time trying to get the bike into neutral gear.

Another electrical issue, the fourth in three weeks - and I've had the bike less than 2 months!

It seems that CPI can't build bikes with switches that work.

A small but increasingly annoying problem: There are times when the starter button simply refuses to be pushed. It sticks solid, and I have to thump it repeatedly before it moves.

I'm not sure if this is related to the problem with the starter button, but I suspect it's a seperate issue. The bloody thing sometimes won't start.

As described previously, I picked up my bike after having it repaired by the main dealer at 10pm on Weds 15 October. On Thursday I took is back to the supplier for it's first oil change. While it was on the lift I noticed a screw missing from the radiator, and since then have experienced other issues with the cooling system.

Because of the coolant and idle-speed issues I took some time to have a closer look at the bike. I had also occasionally noticed that it sounded noiser sometimes than at others. The culprit is a broken hose - on a three-week old bike.

I am extremely concerned about the speed at which my engine idles while sitting at traffic lights, etc. Note that the following observations all apply with the bike in neutral gear and my hands away from the throttle. In fact, on several occasions I have left the bike on it's stand and got off the bloody thing. The numbers quoted are not the result of anything I'm doing.

This is not good. The bike died three times tonight. It feels like it's running out of fuel, but I filled it up earlier today and it has only gone 40km since then.
