The Sexiest Man In Taipei
This was just abit of fun to test the idea of "google bombing" by creating an article that would rise to the top of the search engine rankings.
It's pretty simple to do. You just create an article and then go round the internet writing comments and articles which link back to the one you want to promote. I also asked some of my friends to create links from their own sites, which is a big help. Google counts these links and increases your 'page rank' as a result, which makes you 'more important' to the search engine. The more important you are, the higer up the list you are.
For this one, I used the keywords "the sexiest man in Taipei," and it was a great success. If you go to google and type in that phrase, this page is top of the list!
You can even type "the sexiest man in Taipei" and then press "I'm feeling lucky" to come directly here.
It's a silly example, but it proves that you don't need to pay anything to be number one on google! It gets a lot harder if you want to be number one for a popular phrase. (Searching for the sexiest man in Taipei only turns up 48,100 results. Asking "who should I give all my money to" gets 1,150,000,000 results and it will be a long time before my name is the number one answer to that question.)
