A few days ago I was asked to audition for a TV commercial. They were looking for someone to play a "Jamie Oliver character", which sounds like great fun, and I was all excited at the idea of making some kind of English class out of it.
Actually, I had a group of students at my language school role-play TV chefs and it was a great success. Doing an activity in English is far more useful than learning English from a book, and I would love to do some classes that actually require students to cook - or to learn a new style of cookery. I think it's a great idea, if you can find a kitchen to use.
Anyway, the ad was for a well-known (and absolutely disgusting) brand of fast food, and I didn't stay long enough to do the screen-test when I found out. I was quite disappointed and immediately started thinking about how I could make a video of my own and put it on this site.
The answer is to talk to my friends at Alleycat's Restaurant. No problem, I can use the kitchen some time when the restaurant is closed. So.... all I need is a camera crew and a couple of people who want to learn how to make pizza in English!
