TaiwanChallenges is the name Chris uses to describe his 'work' - the stuff he does that makes money.
He works with several different companies, and as a freelance consultant. The best "description" of what he does is that he helps people communicate with their customers (and each other) at all levels:
- Language teaching, including presentation skills and report writing
- Business skills, such as sales or customer/staff relations
- Copy writing for marketing and technical documents, manuals, websites, etc
- Internationalisation and translation services
- Creative development of branding, products and services, business systems and customer service
- Technology systems to improve information flow, such as website management and use of virtual office processes
There is a common theme that occurs in most of what he does, which is that he is asking people to change the way they do things. As a teacher, the first thing you have to do is make people accept that there is a good reason to do something differently, they have to accept that they're doing something less well than they could be doing. It's the same when advising a manager about how to deal with problems, you're challenging your clients' beliefs.
