Ignite Taipei

Each speaker gets exactly five mintues, and should show twenty slides during that time. Each slide is shown for exactly fifteen seconds. It's very tough to craft a message so that it fits these limits, and we were amazed at how much work was necessary to get it right. Take a look, and let us know what you think of the result! |
Other speakers included Sascha Pallenberg from Netbook News, Jamie Lin from Appworks Ventures, and MingTang Yang of Ideal Day.
The next Ignite will be on 2 September 2011, and will be all in Chinese. Visit their facebook page for details! http://www.facebook.com/IgniteTapei
One Hundred Days
It's almost twenty years since I left my own country and started to travel the world seriously. Since then, I have visited over fifty countries and had all kinds of crazy adventures: I've been homeless and unemployed, and slept under bridges; I've swum with dolphins and dived with sharks; I've enjoyed some pretty amazing jobs; been shipwrecked; had many encounters with cultures that didn't "make sense"; met some incredible people; seen and done things most people only dream about; and even been attacked by a Komodo Dragon - and still have the scars to prove it.
Many people have told me in the past that I should write a book, but of course we all know that most books never become a commercial success. It's simply not a good investment to spend all that time on something with such a small chance of success.
But, on the other hand, I do waste an awful lot of time on sites like Facebook - except that it's not really a waste because it fills a need we all share, to communicate. So, I have decided to try an experiment for one hundred days!
Starting today, I will keep away from Facebook and instead I will spend one hour per day writing stories and articles inspired by my past adventures. My aim is to produce one hundred articles, one per day until the end of this year.
So wish me luck, and check in regularly to see how I'm doing!

No More Educational Stuff!
From September 2011, I have decided not to spend any more time trying to organise classes, seminars, conferences, workshops, etc. (With the exception of TEDxMonga)
I still have a few ongoing commitments, but I'm not looking for new education projects. Instead, I will be focusing on developing some of my other ideas into viable businesses.
On 23 June 2011, Chris spoke at Ignite Taipei, a fun social event with a very challenging format for speeches.
